By developing and implementing a range of senior school programs to meet the interests, abilities and needs of the students in Years 5 and 6 at Brighton Beach, we endeavour to improve our apparent and real retention. The improved links between schools generated by our involvement in the Brighton Innovations & Excellence Cluster has enabled our students to meet and work collaboratively alongside others on shared projects; develop long-term support networks; build relationships; take on leadership roles within the school and improve communication processes across the Cluster. Our School Captains and the Student Representative Council Secretary meet frequently with leaders from Cluster schools to discuss joint projects, plan activities and attend shared Leadership forums for example, the annual Young Leader' Conference. Issues raised by the SRC are taken by the School Captains to the Principal for discussion. The Secretary records and distributes the meeting minutes to all student representatives to enable them to report back to their classes. The SRC Secretary presents an Annual Report to School Council at the end of the school year, highlighting the achievements of the student body. All Year 6 students hold positions of responsibility at
