Brighton Beach Club (Out of School Hours Care Program)

About the Service

Brighton Beach Club (BBC) is sponsored by the Brighton Beach Primary School Council. It is a not-for-profit service designed to cater for the needs of the BBPS community. BBC cares for school-aged children and is approved to provide places subsidised by Child Care Benefit for parents who are eligible and registered with the Family Assistance Office.

A sub-committee of  School Council representatives oversees the operations of the service and a Coordinator is employed to handle the day to day management of BBC.

Bronwyn Morgan (Assistant Principal) heads the OSHC sub-committee.

Tania Wells the BBC Coordinator is your day to day contact, and works closely with a fantastic team of staff to provide a high quality, engaging service to meet the needs of our school community.

  • We aim to provide a safe and happy environment which is inclusive of all children attending our service.
  • We aim to provide an engaging and stimulating service which offers a range of developmentally appropriate activities to interest the children we care for.
  • We encourage family involvement and feedback and we are sensitive to a diverse range of cultural and community requirements.

*A comprehensive statement of our Philosophy and Goals is included with the Parent Handbook and is available from BBC or for download from this website.

**Our Philosophy and Goals are reviewed annually to ensure we continue to meet the needs of our community.

Enrolments and Bookings

Enrolment forms are available from the BBPS office, direct from Brighton Beach Club or for download from this website. Enrolment forms must be returned to BBC prior to your child attending a session.

We aim to be flexible to meet your needs. You may book permanent days or use the service on a casual basis. However, we do have limited number of places available. It is best to book as early as possible to ensure that there is a place available for your child.

Contact the coordinator (Tania Wells) to check session availability, make a booking or with any queries on mobile: 0408 592 784

Food and Nutrition

We provide a range of healthy alternatives for breakfast and afternoon tea. Please inform BBC staff if your child has any special dietary requirements (either cultural or medical) so that these may be taken into account when the menu is planned.

Occasional treats may be provided to cater for special celebrations.

Program and Activities

We are a member of the Active After School Communities Initiative which has been implemented so successfully by the government in conjunction with the Australian Sports Commission. We currently run three sessions a week providing a diverse range of sports and activities which are fun and engaging for all children.

We also provide a wide range of activities and experiences including cooking, art and craft, card and board games, puzzles, science and nature, guided activities as well as self-motivated play opportunities; all designed to interest your children and foster their development.
