Farewell to Yunyun Liu and Welcome to Robyn Hancox

It is with sadness that we farewell Yunyun Liu our Business Manager as she has gained a promotion as the Business Manager at Sandringham Secondary College. Yunyun is very excited about this opportunity. Yunyun started at BBPS in 2010 and has worked extremely hard to streamline all the finances and processes involved in monitoring and collecting expenditure and revenue. She has been a dedicated and committed staff member always wanting to provide the best possible resources for our students.  This week our new Business Manager joined the team Robyn Hancox. Robyn has relocated from South Australia to Melbourne. Robyn has worked in a number of schools and comes with a wealth of knowledge in managing finances in a school setting.

2017 Prep enrolment and Meet the Principal for Existing BBPS families

We are currently accepting enrolments for 2017. As part of this process I would love the opportunity to meet any existing siblings who will be joining their brothers and/or sisters at school next year. This is an exciting time and a great opportunity for me to welcome our next generation of learners to our school. I have scheduled in time between now and the end of this term for the short welcome meetings, so please make a time at the office for you and your 2017 preppie!

NAPLAN Update

We cannot believe next week is the month of May. This means Naplan is just around the corner. As usual our teachers have been working with students to understand what the test looks like and what the process is like on the day.

Most children in Years 3 and 5 will be involved in NAPLAN tests in literacy and numeracy next week.

The testing will take place in the mornings on the following days:

Tuesday 10th May         Year 3 and 5 – language conventions for 40 minutes and writing for 40 minutes

Wednesday 11th May    Year 3 – reading for 45 minutes, Year 5 – reading for 50 minutes

Thursday 12th               May Year 3 – numeracy for 45 minutes and Year 5 – numeracy for 50 minutes

It is essential that children are punctual as the tests are conducted at the start of the school day. Please contact Bev May the NAPLAN coordinator or myself if you have any queries regarding the NAPLAN process.

Don’t forget to get your orders in for the Mothers’ Day Lunch and stall.
