Wristbands: Spread the Word – ‘Bullying No Way – Take a Stand Together!’

 Year 6 Leadership Training

Our Year Six students attended ‘Halogen Imagination – Australia’s premier leadership event for young people’ held at the Exhibition Centre on Southbank this week. This was an outstanding opportunity as students were inspired to develop an authentic and purposeful leadership identity. Students were challenged to consider how they can lead themselves and others well to achieve a strong, sustainable, inclusive and innovative future. This supports the leadership learning that has become an ongoing focus in the classroom. Teachers will be using the experiences of the day as provocations for further planning, evaluation and reflection for leadership skill development throughout the year. All students also enjoyed the morning and afternoon commute on the train. Thanks to Jo Manning, Vanessa Gadea, student teacher Cassie Oblowitz and also to Alex Grady who organises this excursion each year through the SRC.

Religious Instruction

Mrs Alison Coutts coordinates this ‘opt in’ program and reminds parents that forms (which were emailed home to all families) are due back before the end of term for the weekly lunchtime class to commence in term 2.

Fundraising – Easter Raffle

Each year a diligent team of Prep Parents organise the traditional BBPS Easter Raffle. This has become a much loved and highly anticipated end of term event in the yearly fundraising calendar. Many thanks must go to all families who have supported this by donating Easter eggs and/or buying raffle tickets. Special thanks to prep class reps: Anna; Stephi; Lucy and Carolyn who coordinated this year’s Easter Raffle

Year 5 Camp

Once again the Year 5 students have excelled in the way they have tackled the challenges of the Phillip Island Adventure camp.  Check out the proud smiles of achievement evident in the photos. Many thanks to Aaron Steel, Alex Grady and Megan Craig along with Kim Ancrum, Alice Mareska, Kirsten Braun, Josh Ancrum and student teacher Olivia Coogan . Feedback from the camp staff has been unanimous in their praise of the manners and respectful behaviour shown by our students.  We look forward to welcoming the happy campers back tomorrow at approximately 2.30pm.

We welcome Ellie Hilton to the front office who will be taking over from Benita, while she is on Long Service Leave. We wish Benita a happy and safe holiday.  We will miss you soooo much (edited by Benita).

End of Term

We wish all families a relaxing and safe break. A reminder that Term 2 starts on Tuesday the 18th of April after Easter Monday.
