Principal's News

posted Oct 15, 2017, 4:46 PM by BBPS School

Welcome back everyone and we extend a very warm welcome to all families new to BBPs this term. It is always a delight to catch up on holiday news and have the students share what they have enjoyed during their time away from school. As always, the final term is jammed packed and the school calendar highlights the busy term ahead, full of lots of fabulous events.

Free Dress Day – tomorrow

The obvious excitement surrounding sporting grand finals that took place over the holidays including the recent success of our  Diamonds National Netball Team, the Melbourne Storm and the Richmond Tigers in the AFL, has led to the students being invited to come to school tomorrow (FRIDAY) wearing a sport team jersey or sporting gear. As well as raising money for the very worthwhile SRC nominated charity, Variety for Kids via a gold coin donation, this event will enable all students to celebrate being active and to pay homage to their favourite

teams.

Working Bee – Save the date

Our school working bee is scheduled for Sunday 29th of October 10am- 1pm. Please save the date. Jobs will include gardening, some repair and maintenance works and a general tidy up. Stay tuned for further details.

Athletics

Congratulations to all the students who competed this week at the Division Athletics. We had a large number of students come 1st or 2nd place who will now be competing at the South-Metro Regionals on Thursday, 19th October. We wish them all the best and look forward to a full report next week. Thank you to the parents who are involved in supervising the students during this event.

Walking to School Bus

What a wonderful celebration of community involvement as the Barden family and our BBPS Walking to School Bus were recognised in the local newspaper over the holidays. October means a lot of things – warmer weather, flowering trees and, most excitingly, it’s time for Walk to School! Throughout the month, we’re encouraging our families to walk, scoot or ride to and from school to build healthy habits for life either by joining the BBPS Walking School Bus or making your own way to school.

Kid's Matter

Click here to read the Kids Matter newsletter which this month, focuses on “Helping children manage emotions".

Grade 4 Camp

We wish Grade 4 a wonderful time on school camp next week at Camp Jungai from Wednesday 18th – Friday 20th October. Thank you to the teachers who will be attending and supporting Grade 4.
