As some of you are aware next year Hannah Vesikko has been offered a position at Murrumbeena Primary School as an Acting Leading Teacher.  Hannah has been the Level 3 leader since last year and is extremely excited about this leadership opportunity and we wish her all the best for 2016.

We have also had some unexpected movement in our Foundation enrolments for 2016, which has seen a drop in our numbers resulting in two classes. Class sizes remain the same as this year’s Foundation classes. This has created an opportunity for Meg Read to move into the Year 1 position that Hannah is leaving.

Our soiree on Tuesday night was a smashing success. Our Performing Arts Captains Megan and Sophia welcomed families and conducted the evening with confidence. The performers dazzled and delighted the audience with a varied program including solo piano performances, guitar, strings, drums and brass. It was pleasing to see the resilience of students as they persevered when mistakes were made, which is a skill of a true performer. The finale of the small band ensemble completed the showcase of the talented musicians we have at BBPS.

Foundation Expo

On Tuesday we were lucky enough to be invited by our Foundation students to their writing expo where they shared lots of information about an area of inquiry. This was a proud moment to celebrate all their learning about animals and about how to write information reports. It was fantastic to see so many parents, grandparents and friends there to enjoy this event.

Make sure you check out the girls’ cricket success in the Bayside Leader and listen to the podcast on Southern FM of our Media Captains which aired at 8am today.
