Welcome BBQ
At assembly students have shared their excitement about the Welcome BBQ this Friday. With classes well underway and routines for 2018 becoming established we look forward to this occasion as a celebration of our wonderful community spirit and sense of belonging that we pride ourselves on. So on Friday as well as all the usual fun check out the Feelin’ Good Tent and have ‘smile’, a cuddle, a sensory walk or anything in there that is set up to showcase health and wellbeing.
Many thanks to our PA team who have been busy behind the scenes planning this event. More help is required particularly for the set up so……If you can spare a bit of time to help us make this a great event for everyone...we would really appreciate it...To sign up to help click on this link

Second-hand Book Stand
Many thanks to those parents who have sent along books for the stand. The school library captains are running this stall. If you have books to contribute it is not too late, please leave them at the office. Well-loved books deserve a second chance and it also helps reduce, reuse and recycle for sustainability.

Brighton Beach is excited to share with you that we are now using compass School Manager as a whole school digital Management platform. Using Compass will allow easy access and up-to-date and meaningful information about our school and your child’s progress. At this stage, we are rolling out the capabilities of the high functioning platform in a staged process. Phase 1, the current stage, commenced in Term 4 of 2017. During this time, the focus has been on staff becoming familiar with using this platform for attendance and in-house management such as the calendar, daily communication and event planning. Phase 2, beginning in Term 2 of 2018, will involve inviting parents on board as our primary parent communication portal. Parents will be able to utilise features such as attendance and absences, excursion permissions and accessing your child/children’s semester reports and making payments.

Please stay tuned for further information regarding this roll out process, details of how you can access Compass as a parent and the features that will be available to you. Many thanks to the ICT team and school council for supporting the introduction of this much needed addition to streamline our communications.

Swimming and Tennis

Sport is an integral part of the learning program at BBPS and whilst swimming features strongly in the senior school at the start of every year culminating in the 4-6 house swimming sports our junior school has been hitting the courts to develop their ha   d eye coordination, cooperative skills and competitive spirit in a modified tennis unit. See the gallery of photos form these events. Many thanks to Josh Ancrum for the stellar programs on offer at BBPS and to all the parents who so generously offer support and provide assistance and encouragement to all students. The resilience of all students to participate and do their best is a key learning goal.

School Photos next week for all students on Tuesday 27th.
