Student Leader and Student Representative Council (SRC) Badge Presentations

On Monday 22nd February at 2.55pm we have our special assembly where we will be presenting our student leaders with their badges. This presentation includes all 2016 captains and SRC leaders. We warmly invite all of our leaders’ parents to join us for this special event. Our special guest on the occasion will be the Mayor of Bayside James Long. Please see the next page the list of the student leaders for 2016.

Communication

How do you find out about what’s happening at BBPS?

The newsletter is a weekly communication tool that focuses on whole school events, celebrations and important changes in our context. Please enjoy reading it each week.

In addition teaching levels will also be sending home a fortnightly newsletter or blog sharing what learning has been achieved so far, what the future learning is and the key dates to be aware of. The purpose of these newsletters is to keep parents up to date and informed about the learning their children are engaged in. These newsletters (or blogs) will be sent out on Tuesdays. So stayed tune! You can also always access our website which has forms and information you may wish to know http://www.brightonbeachps.vic.edu.au/

If you would like to make a time to speak to a teacher please contact the office by email brighton.beach.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au or phone 9591 0888 and they will pass the message on for you.

School Photo Day

Schoolpix will be visiting us on Thursday 25th February.  Children need to be in their school uniform and their hair should be neat and swept off their face. To pre-order online take your personal Order and ID Numbers found on your order form and go to www.schoolpix.com.au (orders can be placed online up to 3 working days after photography.  You do not need to return the order form if you order online.

Farewell and thank you to Jen Neate - School Council President

Jen has been an extremely generous volunteer and advocate of our school since her eldest Darcy began at BBPS in 2005. Since her daughter Chloe left in 2013 she has continued as the community representative and president of the BBPS School Council. She has been both the PA president for a number of years as well as the school council president for the last 5 years. Jen’s commitment to the students and families of our school and her determination to ensure BBPS is a premier learning centre has been second to none. It is with great sadness we say farewell. We will be organising an assembly to say thank you to Jen and once that date is confirmed it will be communicated to the community past and present.

I hope you have all enjoyed meeting with your child’s class teacher this week and look forward to seeing you at next Friday nights welcome BBQ from 5-30 until 7.30pm.
