OPERA Comes To Brighton Beach

Thank you to Nicole Alexander who organised yesterday’s operatic performance of Hansel and Gretel. It was enjoyed by all and an excellent opportunity to expose our students to extend their knowledge about the diversity of performing arts.

Gale Rankin Retires

Gale Rankin our Art teacher for more than twenty years has decided to retire at the end of this term. This is very exciting for Gale as she begins a new era in her life free from work with plenty of time for travel and fun. Gale has made an outstanding contribution to the profile of Visual Arts in our school and continually has supported our students to create original pieces of art work. This term we will see the installation of the Totem Pole project called ‘Our Story” along with our highly prized BBPS Art Show and Grandparents and Special Friends Day. As a community we will wish Gale well at our final assembly in Term 3 on Monday 14th September. So please come along and join us as we farewell Gale.

Fire Fighters Visit Foundation

Our Foundation level students have been lucky enough to receive a visit from the Fire Fighters. This was enjoyed by all and is part of developing their understanding of who are the people in our community that help us.

REMINDER: A forum for Parents led by the Parents - Why should your child stay @ BBPS in Year 5 & 6?

This is the time that some of our Year 3 and 4 parents begin to consider whether they move their children to an independent school or stay and complete Year 5 and 6 at BBPS. So this is an opportunity for parents to come along and hear about the benefits of staying at BBPS for Year 5 and 6. This is a forum for parents run by parents, please book it in the diary. The date has been set for Monday 17th August at 7.30pm, so do come along and join the conversation. Don’t forget to keep collecting your Earn and Learn stickers and drop them into the box near the office.
