Words of Thanks
Fundraising: Thank you to all classes at BBPS for their contributions to the SRC fundraiser for Feed Melbourne. The goods were collected this week. Katherine from Feed Melbourne was very excited and extends her gratitude to our staff and students. She asked me to pass on that our generous contributions and support is helping feed hundreds of less fortunate. So, a huge well done to all, and thank you from myself and Jodie for supporting our SRC to make this happen. Alice Mareska
Sincere thanks to those families that came on Sunday morning to lend a hand at the working bee. David Paterson (with Thomas 1W) and Seb, Cathy Kirkham (with Spencer 6C) Emily Severino (with Dane PT), Lisa Mitchell, Rob De Zeeuw, Kris, Kylie and Zachary White, and Greg May. In addition Shane Dawes who assisted with set up, particularly the delivery of tanbark and provision of tools. The main focus was addressing the soft fall under the three sets of playground equipment, washing down the hall walls and the art room sinks.
Thank you to the Year 2 and 5 Class Reps and parent helpers behind this year’s Halloween Disco. Students and parents enjoyed dancing the night away in our extensively decorated hall, thanks to the behind the scenes organisation that took place. Highlights included:
“My favourite part was the scary decorations” Giles, Prep
“”I enjoyed hearing my favourite songs, like Roar” Leah, Year 2
“The disco was sick as – the DJ put on good tracks and the lights were glowing everywhere” Millar, Year 3
“I liked the costumes. The people in blow up costumes were really funny” Harper, Year 3
“The music was good and fun to dance to” Charlotte, Year 5
“The DJ was really fun and it was cool how he asked for song requests” Lucas, Year 5
Congratulations to all classes for the great Banners. 5T and Prep B have won the award for best banners for 2019 and will enjoy class pizzas.
A huge thank you to the prep team for the facilitation of our prep 2019 orientation program. Upcoming preps enjoyed the opportunity to attend school and participate in classroom learning, while parents were invited to the hall to build relationships, gain information about our school community and enjoy musical performances by a range of students. Congratulations to the senior choir for their premier performance and to the Year 5 rock band for their encore performance. Thank you to our community members Deidre, Deb and Sean who contributed to the sessions. 2019 preps will participate in the final orientation session next Wednesday, 7 November with a celebration teddy bear’s picnic on Exon, beginning at 9:15am.
