We would like to congratulate all the students and their teachers for all their hard work leading up to the Science Expo which was such a great success. Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who were able to make it in and celebrate the student’s knowledge and blossoming passion for science. From Prep to Year 6 the information, inventions and concepts presented were impressive. Walking through the school parents and students were able to learn about the different instruments that measure weather, important scientists that have impacted our lives, natural disasters and space.
The Resilience Project supports the emotional literacy program at BBPS and has taught us that by practising gratitude each day, by acknowledging and appreciating what we have rather than what we do not have, we can rewire our brains and ultimately become more positive and less anxious. Our sleep improves, as well as our focus and determination. We are happier, more enthusiastic and positively engage with life and all its challenges. Each morning Ed and his buddy Charles visit classrooms to collect gratitude slips. These are short statements that remind us to appreciate how lucky we are and celebrate the little things. BBPS Has Got Talent
A huge congratulations to all those students who participated in our talent show on Tuesday afternoon. The level of skill and creativity displayed by our students was inspiring and highly entertaining. We were treated to a smorgasbord of talent: including dancers, singers, musicians, a DJ and comedians. Well done to all those who participated and we look forward to seeing your development as performers at our next show.
Parent Teacher Interviews
On Tuesday night, teachers and parents took valuable time to meet and discuss student progress and reports. It was a great opportunity to reflect on the achievement of our children, with many teachers receiving a vast amount of recognition from our community for the work they do. Thank you to Kylie White and Kirsten Braun for leading the report process, and to all the teachers for the many hours of assessment analysis and consideration given to each child’s report.
A big thank you to the school community for your support this year raising money for Neal Daniher’s Fight MND charity.
Due to your generosity BBPS will be able to contribute $202.20 to this important cause.
Music Lessons @ BBPS
Along with our highly valued instrumental program with Phil Gunter and Red notes, we are pleased to offer singing lessons commencing next term. Please refer to our website in term 3.
End of term
Yes, the final week of semester 1 2019 has arrived. Many thanks to all who contribute to the BBPS community. Just a quick reminder, students will be dismissed at 2.30pm on Friday from their classrooms, there will be no assembly. We hope all students have a safe and restful break and return in Term 3 fully charged to meet their next learning challenges.
