Welcome to our new students who have started this term,
SRC Network Meeting
Congratulations to our SRC Coordinators, Madi and Jack, for hosting the first SRC network meeting with our neighbouring schools Hampton PS, Brighton PS and Beaumaris North PS at the end of last term. Students took the time to share some of the social action taking place within their school communities and will now look to organising a collaborative community project. This is a fantastic initiative led by our Year 6 Leaders.

WE WANT OUR PARENTS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!
Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents think of our school. The Parent Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is conducted amongst a sample of randomly selected parents. It is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of parents’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour and student engagement. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.
Approximately 30 per cent of parents will be invited to participate in this year’s survey. All responses to the survey are anonymous. This year the Parent Opinion Survey will be conducted from Monday 22rd July to Sunday 11th August.
The survey will be conducted online, takes 10-15 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in a range of languages other than English. These include: Arabic, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Chin (hakha), Hindi, Japanese, Greek, Turkish, Somali and Punjabi.
The survey results will be reported back to the school at the end of September. These results will be communicated to parents via the school newsletter and School Annual Report. Please speak to Kim or Bev if you would like more information.
Each week the SRC select students from the 5Rrrrrsss treasure chest to receive a wristband in acknowledgement of demonstrating one of our 5Rs – Relationships, Respect, Responsibility, Resilience or Reflection. Students and teachers nominate students throughout the term, who are then placed in the treasure chest for a chance to receive the school wristband.
Congratulations to this week’s recipients.
Ryan, Prep E: for showing resilience
Ava, 4D: for being responsible and setting a good example
Mary, 5T: for taking responsibility to write the class schedule each day
Millie, 1W: for reflecting and concentrating on her learning
