Students in Years 3 to 6 attend camps away from school.
The Year 3 camp is up to 3 days and 2 nights long, and has an outdoor education focus, to build students’ skills in resilience, responsibility and teamwork.
The Year 4 camping program is similar to the Year 3 one in length, however usually has a mixture of cultural and outdoor education activities.
The Year 5 camp is up to five days long. It focuses on team building, initiative and problem solving strategies within an outdoor education setting. The Year 6 camp ties in with historical and civics and citizenship curriculum studies.
Previous Year 6 camps have toured Canberra and Tasmania. All our camps enhance the curriculum at Brighton Beach, and help to develop initiative, self-esteem, self-management and responsibility within our students.
