Young Engineers
Young Engineers runs after school STEM classes for P-6 where they teach Mechanics and Software Engineering Principles with Lego. Children build and program Lego machines and learn many technical concepts like forces, transmission, algorithm, pseudo code etc. They use motors, sensors, and other electronic parts to make their Lego machines move and operate similar to their real world counterparts.
Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) are becoming increasingly important due to technology pervading every aspect of our lives. All careers in the future will require STEM skills, as humans increasingly manage machines to get their daily tasks done. In order to be future-ready, children today need a STEM education – an education that gives them not just information but the ability to apply that knowledge to solve problems.
Critical thinking, problem solving, visual spatial and mechanical expertise are developed through practice - and Lego is the best tool to do it!
