The Kitchen Garden has continued to grow and develop over the years at Brighton Beach Primary School.
We have numerous beds which are seasonally planted, a greenhouse to germinate our own seedlings and a thriving orchid area that produces many fruits. Students are involved in the process of composting, planting, maintaining and harvesting the produce throughout the year.
The Kitchen Garden helps to foster student learning across all aspects of the curriculum. Some examples of this are; measurement in Mathematics, creative writing, inquiry/STEAM projects that involve seasonal produce and experimentation with watering systems.
The Kitchen Garden is also used as an outdoor classroom, allowing students to learn in different environments.
