Build Project for BBPS

A Reflection from our Community Captains on the Grade 6 Canberra Camp
As some of you may know, Year 6 travelled to Canberra at the start of Term 4. We visited the Royal Australian Mint, the Australian War Memorial, the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), Questacon, Parliament House and the National Arboretum.
Questacon and the AIS were the most popular places we visited. The drop slide at Questacon and the playground at the Arboretum were particular favourites. At the Arboretum, we also completed a scavenger hunt, searching for different hole punches to stamp each number on our sheets. At the War Memorial, we saw real aeroplanes that had been used in war.
Throughout our journey to Canberra and our travels around the city, we had a guide named Jason, better known as J-Dog! Although the bus ride sometimes felt long, Jason kept us entertained and helped us learn about Canberra and its history.
We had a wonderful time exploring Australia’s capital!

Stay tuned to this new section of our newsletter as we share monthly developments for our exciting future building project, as a result of the 26-27 State Budget, with the Victorian Government investing $16 million to upgrade and modernise our school.
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Cottee Parker Architects as our project’s architect. We will now work with them and the Victorian School Building Authority to progress planning and design for our new spaces.
This is an important milestone and brings us a step closer to delivering this exciting project for our school community.
We look forward to sharing further updates with you as the project progresses.

Excursion to Chesterfield Farm

"It was fun at the farm because the camels sucked my finger. They had dears, pigs, horses, cows and chickens. We learnt about sheep dogs. One of the sheepdogs was called Scout. He rounds up sheep and makes them go in the right places and not near the fences."
Sebastian R
"My favourite part was saying hello to the guinea pigs and they're really cute and they squeak. Most of the animals eat hay or straw or grass. We got to milk the cows - it was a bit weird but also fun."
