Last Newsletter for 2022

We have reached the end of a jam-packed, sensational year. Congratulations to all the students at BBPS for being curious and taking on the challenge to be thinkers and for their hard work throughout 2022. Their semester 2 reports (and student comments) are evidence of continued growth and commitment to learning. Semester 2 reports can now be accessed via Compass.

A special congratulations to our 2022 Preps, completing their first year of primary school.

A special farewell with very mixed emotions to our Grade 6 class of 2022 this week – who were celebrated on Monday with a fabulous lunch and evening ceremony. Thank you to Jodie Gates and Kirsten Braun, supported by numerous staff members, for their organisation of the Graduation Ceremony and to the Parent Organising Committee for creating a wonderful disco-themed lunch time celebration and year book that they will cherish forever.

See the photos in BBPS Life ( thanks to Patrick for collating these)

We also wish our leaving staff well – Maddi Rolfe as she embarks on motherhood in 2023, Paloma Ellis-Vega who will be travelling the world, Tasleem Sahib who will be teaching at a school closer to home, and Rose Siracusa (Education Support) who will be enjoying a sea change to Sorrento. You are all loved members of our community and we wish you every success.

The year certainly has ended with a bang.

Let’s not forget the joy and excitement in the aftermath of our Christmas Extravaganza – thank you again to the Parent Association, all our generous sponsors, and the many parents who donated time and items to this wonderful event. Special thank you must go to Terri-Anne, Talo, Jenny and Marnie for leading the organising team. This event raised over $18 000 dollars for our school – this is an absolutely outstanding effort by our community – and will mean that the entirety of our planned inclusive playground can now go ahead in 2022. Thank you. We look forward to sharing the plans with you next year.

Congratulations to all performers at our annual Musical Soiree, an opportunity for all students to have a go and perform in front of an audience. Special thanks to the many teachers who supported Phil to facilitate this event.

CAMP

Well done to our grade 3s and 4s, finishing up their first school camp ever yesterday. A big thank you to the big team of teachers who attended camp and provided the love and care needed away from home. The kids had a ball at Camp Jungai – check out BBPS Life for photos.

Students met their 2023 teachers this morning and will be bringing home a letter of introduction from their new teacher to share with you.
